PURPLE BLUE

Purple: 10 facts about my room.

1) My bed has no bedpost. I removed it two years ago cause everytime I moved around in bed while watching TV on my laptop, it would make creaking noises. Then my mom would hear the noises and come barging into my room yelling at me to go to sleep. Best decision ever.

2) Every week I have a plethora of jerseys hanging on doorknobs and in any spot that I would be able to dry them. I don’t like to put them in the dryer after I wash them. Last time I did that, the material shrunk.

3) I have hand-me-down flowery bed sheets. I also have hand-me-down pillows of which the design will remain undisclosed.

4) I have a couch-futon thing that can fold out into a bed. This is only used as a bed when people sleepover. Otherwise, it remains a couch of which I throw random stuff on.

5) My room is painted sky blue because when I was little I wanted to paint clouds on them. That never happened. Oh wait, in 4th grade I think I took some chalk and drew random clouds somewhere. I also wrote my name and a smiley face in Wite-Out somewhere on these walls.

6) I live in what you may call an attic. My room is on the second floor but because its bordered by the roof, it looks like an attic with its trapezoidal shape.

7) I can touch the ceiling of my room with my hands extended so i’m guessing it’s only about 6.5 feet high.

8) I still have my Power Rangers: In Space Megazord toys that combine into one ultra-megazord. I forgot what they’re called — Astro and Delta Megazord?

9) None of the furniture in my room matches one another. They’re all different shades of brown.

10) I have no ceiling lights in my room. I function with two lamps and the window.

Blue: 9 facts about my family.

1) There are four people: My mom, my dad, my sister, and me.

2) My mom has 4 sisters and a brother. My dad has 4 brothers. Baby Booming at its finest.

3) My family used to have game nights in our old apartment and we would play Monopoly. I always went to jail (not cause I got caught crossing the border) but because I was just unlucky. This one time I just got out of jail and went back to jail. I got so mad that I threw a tantrum and quit playing.

4) My family used to go to Flushing Meadows-Corona Park a lot when my sister and I were kids. This is where I learned to roller blade. My first pair of rollerskates were these shoes with four wheels on them and a Barbie insignia. Embarrassment did not exist in my word bank back then.

5) My family hasn’t eaten around the same dinner table for like a whole year. My sister and I are rarely home during the same days/times. Sad, no?

6) We haven’t gone on vacation as a family in over 8 years. Except to send me off to school.

7) We used to go to some golf driving range back in the day. My dad was the only one who could hit the golf ball past 5 yards. This one time I was approached by some other golfer cause he saw potential in me and taught me how to properly swing. I forget how to hold a golf club now but back then it was really fun. I think my farthest drive as a kid was maybe 115 yards. Sickkkk for a 4 ft. tall kid.

8) In the winter, we used to go to Kissena Park in our old used broken-down White Cadillac. We would find this hill that was really good for sledding/tobogganing.

9) Bronx Zoo. Smelly animals. Hot days. Awesome lunches that my mom packed for our adventure at the zoo. Bus riding in a dangerous area. My sister and I wearing tiny backpacks with our own plastic Rubbermaid bottles for water.

In the next chapter I will be writing about…

Yellow: 7 facts about my childhood
Orange: 6 facts about my home town.
White: 3 facts about my personality.
Grey: 2 facts about my favourite things.

Hope reading this is a good way to pass time for those of you at work!
